Building in the NC Mountains

Many questions arise for the first time land buyer, as I was 17 years ago. Among other things, buyers need to know about perk tests, shared wells, septic systems, and road right-of-ways.

I have the answers to your questions since I have been through this process, and I have recommendations to my buyers who come to me at Wakeman Realty. Some clients come to Boone, North Carolina to purchase a vacation property and some want a permanent home in the mountains. Others come into Boone first and then head over to Watauga Lake in nearby Tennessee for lakefront or lake view property.

Whatever your requirements are, I can help you find the perfect property for you. If you purchase land, I will help you find a reputable builder to construct your home. If you purchase an existing home, I will help you with home inspections and take the hassle out of the buying process.

I’m pleased to represent Wakeman Realty, a family owned real estate firm in the high country. I work in a relaxed but professional atmosphere. Please be careful not to step on my dog Lexi who is often at the office with me. Come join us to experience a total change of lifestyle and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Blue Ridge mountains.

Happy Customers

We have worked with John for many years. We have bought and sold and bought again. There were times when we would peruse property for days at a time and buy nothing. Never saw him frustrated or impatient with our time consuming pondering. And after the sale he is still helpful with details and issues that come up even years later. At times we weren’t even in country when he was helping to manage property issues for us. We will most likely buy and sell again, and it will certainly be with John Wakeman!
